Wild rice is the most unusual of all the other types of rice because it is dark brown, even black. It has a distinct strong flavour, reminiscent of herbs and spices, and a light smoky aftertaste. Wild rice is great in salads, but also in dishes with lots of spices and thick sauces.
Preparation:Boil washed wild rice at a ratio of 1:2 (1 portion of rice to 2 portions of water) over low heat for about 45 minutes.
