How to use?
Linseed is recommended to be ground and consumed with a large amount of liquid (water, juice). However, if you are going to use whole flaxseeds, it is advisable to soak them in warm water before use. The beneficial properties of linseed are highlighted and enhanced when mixed with syrup or jam.
It is important to stress that linseed oil is not suitable for heating, as it not only loses nutrients when heated, but also releases trans fats that are harmful to the body at high temperatures.
Grind flaxseeds and use them in porridges, fermented drinks and healthy green smoothies. You can also add them to salads, sauces, stews or soups just before eating. It is important not to heat the flaxseeds, as this will cause them to lose all their good qualities. It is best to add them at the end of baking or before serving.
The ground seeds will keep for up to six months in a sealed container and will not lose their nutritional properties.
