Ceremonial Mahematcha tea
Ceremonial mild matcha tea from Japan is the highest quality green tea powder that has been used in traditional Japanese tea ceremonies for nearly a millennium. Ceremonial matcha is made from shade-grown tea leaves, avoiding direct sunlight, thus promoting higher levels of chlorophyll. For ceremonial matcha, only the finest and softest tea leaves are picked and ground into a bright green powder. It is this type of ceremonial matcha that meets EU organic standards. This ceremonial Matcha comes from the Kagoshima region of Japan, the largest organic tea producing area. Matcha is rich in antioxidants and also contains caffeine, but this is completely different from the caffeine found in coffee. Our matcha Hisui has a very pleasant, aromatic and mild taste. It can therefore be used as a pure tea, an energy drink or for an important tea ceremony. Unlike some other green tea powders, which are made from the leaves, including ribs and stems, our matcha does not contain these bitter components. Research into matcha and its components has shown a wide range of health benefits. The micronutrients in matcha powder are said to support healthy skin, normal iron metabolism, cell protection against oxidative stress, normal blood pressure, red blood cell and hemoglobin function, etc.
The traditional matcha whisk, or chasen, is used in the Japanese tea ceremony to make matcha tea with foam. The whisk is handmade from a single piece of bamboo. Precise cuts are created by flexible bristles that are gently curved at the bottom and connected at the top and finished with a special handle.
Matcha tea making: Place 1/2-1 teaspoon of matcha (1.5g) in a mug or matcha bowl (the wide bottom of the bowl makes it easy and convenient to whisk the matcha in water and the foam will form quickly) and pour up to 100ml of hot water (80°C) over it. Whisk the matcha until the bowl is filled to a perfect nephrite green froth in about 20 seconds. You can now add more water if you want the matcha to taste milder. To taste, you can add a herbal drink and sweeten. For best results, the whisk should be soaked in hot water before use.
