It is added to sweets, biscuits and gingerbread (especially during the winter holidays). Add cardamom to marinades, wine, spicy stews, sautéing seitan. Cardamom has a refreshing effect, which is why it was chewed in ancient times and is still chewed in some countries after meals to remedy bad breath.
