Green coffee beans are not roasted, so they have a completely different flavour to black coffee beans – grassy, slightly acidic, similar to ripe hazelnuts. However, they are considered to be more useful because they retain all the beneficial substances unless they are thermally treated. Unlike black beans, green beans are obtained by drying, not roasting. Beans look like lentils. The colour of the drink is greenish-brown, with a bitter taste.
The benefits of green coffee:
Scientific studies have proven the benefits of green coffee for weight loss. This is due to the beans’ high content of chlorogenic acid, one of the most powerful antioxidants, which regulates blood glucose levels and promotes intense fat burning.
In addition, green coffee beans contain a high concentration of chromium, which reduces cravings for sweets and suppresses hunger. The main rule is that the drink should be consumed without sweeteners. You can add ginger, cinnamon, vanilla, cardamom or other spices to taste.
Green coffee beans are rich in purine alkaloids, tannins, organic acids, essential oils, lipids, minerals and vitamins (C, E and PP). Thanks to this unique composition (not found in traditional beverages), green coffee has a beneficial effect on our bodies.
The properties of green coffee beans are widely used in cosmetology and medicine. The oil is used for skin care, hair growth and shine, prevention of cellulite and stretch marks, burns and other scars.
The recommended daily amount is no more than 2 cups of tonic.
Coffee is banned for children and teenagers, pregnant and breastfeeding women.
Preparation: Pour 1-2 teaspoons of hot water (preferably 90°C) over ground green coffee. After 5 minutes, the coffee is ready for consumption. The taste of the infusion is slightly spicy, similar to green tea.
