Is the Explorer thermos safe to wash in the dishwasher?
No, it is not dishwasher safe. While this will not damage the stainless steel construction, it may shorten the integrity of the vacuum seal if water gets inside the double wall. Wash only by hand and, for the same reason, do not immerse completely in water.
Is there anything I should know about this bottle?
It is not intended for use with baby food or milk-based products. Be careful when opening a thermos filled with hot liquid and keep it out of the reach of children. Do not keep perishable beverages in the thermos, which can go bad. Make sure that the silicone seal on the cap is correctly positioned so that the cap is fully closed.
How to clean the bottle?
Wash thoroughly with hot soapy water before use, but do not immerse completely in water. Wash regularly to keep the bottle clean and to avoid unpleasant odours. Store the bottle with the cap removed and allow it to dry completely after washing.
How to remove stains or odours?
Add one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda and mix with hot water. Leave to stand overnight with the lid on and then clean carefully. Vinegar can be substituted for baking soda, but it must be washed thoroughly with soapy water to remove the taste and smell of vinegar.
